This is a story about my dad. Not long ago, my parents went to JB for lunch at a famous Bak Kut Teh restaurant. As they were waiting for their food, they noticed a TV crew filming a food show. Their food finally arrived. Just as my dad picked up his chopsticks… A camera suddenly appeared right in front of him. “Excuse me! Would you mind giving us a quick reaction and a short interview?” My dad smiled politely. “Sorry… I’m really not comfortable being on camera.” The crew thanked him and walked away. …or so he thought. A minute later, another producer came over. “Sir, both of you look wonderful together.” “Could we please have just ONE minute?” My dad smiled and politely declined again. “No… I really don’t like cameras.” But they kept asking. “Please, sir.” “Just one minute.” “It’ll be very quick.” After a few more attempts… My dad finally looked at them and said just one word. … … … … … . . . “Affair.” … The TV crew immediately turned around… and started looking for another table. 🤣
